Biography

Throughout her career, Marisa Lenhardt has had the honor of appearing at multiple performances with world-famous diva Frederica von Stade, has performed with the Chris Brubeck trio and the Oakland
Symphony
, Michael Morgan conducting. She has sung the national anthem for the Oakland Raiders, Oakland As, and at Sears Point for the AMA races. She has sung everywhere from the Warner Brothers lot to La Rambla in Barcelona.

Marisa has been singing professionally from the age of 7 when she joined the San Francisco Girls Chorus. She graduated from the organization after eight years, three of them at the professional touring level. She added private voice lessons to her training when she was 12.

In 1997, Ms. Lenhardt received her Bachelor’s degree in Vocal Performance from the San Francisco Conservatory of Music. During her time at the Conservatory, she both gave solo recitals and performed with its opera workshop, including fully staged scenes from La Boheme (Mimi), L’amico Fritz (Suzel), Old Maid and the Thief (Miss Todd), Beatrice et Benedict (Beatrice), Lucia di Lammermoor (Lucia), La Clemenza di Tito (Vitellia), and Lakme (Lakme). She celebrated her graduation from the Conservatory by participating in the school's Summer Music West program where she sang her first full role, the Queen of the Night in Mozart's Die Zauberflöte.

Following her graduation from the Conservatory,, she spent time in New York, where she performed the role of the High Priestess in Aida with the New York Opera Forum. Ms. Lenhardt returned to the Bay Area in 1999 to further her vocal studies with Susan Gundunas. Her performance experience since her return has been extensive and varied. She has sung the National Anthem for the Oakland Raiders, the Oakland A's, and for the AFM at Sears Point Raceway. She has been a cantor for St. Anne's of the Sunset Church (San Francisco), St. Barnabas Church (Alameda), and is currently the cantor at St. Margaret Mary Church in Oakland. Her current discography includes 5 video game soundtracks through SSI/Mindscape Games, where she recorded up to 16 tracks, creating an entire chorus. Her appearances have included performing with Frederica von Stade at multiple fundraisers for the Alameda Education Foundation in 2003-2005.

In 2002, she performed in the chorus of San Francisco Lyric Opera’s Madama Butterfly, and as one of "Due Donne" in their production of Le Nozze di Figaro. That same year, she joined the Opera San Jose Chorus for their production of Madama Butterfly, and continued to sing with them for the next 3 seasons, performing in Faust, the Magic Flute, Cavalleria Rusticana and I Pagliacci. In 2003 she signed on as a touring member of the Velocity Circus Troupe. As such, she has sung for events such as the World Technology Awards, San Francisco Magazine's Best of the Bay Gala, and WBTV's season launch party.

2005 saw Ms. Lenhardt focusing her energies on more solo engagements. In June, she joined the UC Santa Cruz Opera Theatre as a guest artist, singing Donna Elvira in their Don Giovanni. In September, she became a regular performer at the Supper Club in San Francisco, an ongoing engagement. In October, Ms. Von Stade invited her to sing at a benefit for the Sophia Project in Oakland, and they reunited in August of 2006 for a benefit for Cole Cloren. In June 2007 sang the role of Hebe,, as well as covering the role of Josephine in the Lyric Theater of San Jose's production of H.M.S. Pinafore. She continues her training with Ms. Gundunas, and is actively seeking new and challenging performance opportunities.
